Lines from Today's play

SABASTAPOOL IS SICK~

Ezra: "Mom, mom, Sabastapool's trowing up"

Mom: Why?

Ezra: "Because he ate a reglar (regular) little bean and it was spicy, so he's trowing up."

Mom: Oh that's sad.

Ezra: "Yeah, poor Sabastapool. It was willwry (really) spicy."

NEXT PICTURE BY EZRA KING OF THE BLEEDY PICTURES~

Ezra: "this is a bleedy alligator. The gate snapped him all over."

Mom: What gate?

Ezra: "The gate that was Thomas the Train. It was starting to shut and the alligator went in and it snapped him all over."

Enoch: "Where's the gate?"

Ezra: " Um, Um I didn't DRAW the gate"

SIR KEVIN OF DEVIN PLAY~ Sir Kevin of Devin is a book about a little boy who is not quite 11 and he wants to be a knight. It tells of how Kevin goes after a man made monster and chases it all over the country until it finally winds down. He is a hero to the people and then becomes a knight. The book is in poem form and the boys love it. They play Sir. Kevin of Devin quite a lot.

Enoch: "no Ezra you're not Sir Kevin of Devin. You don't get to ride the horse. You don't have a mace. Ezra, you are the monster that's made out of metal and you run out of batteries.

Ezra gets off the horse and bends down to look the horse in the face: "Oh your sick. He's trowing up!"

Enoch: "He's NOT sick"

Enoch leaves and Ezra climbs up on the horse:

Ezra: I'm Sir Kevin of Devin.

Enoch comes back and says:

Enoch: he has to have shining armor because it says shining armor. Tries a different hat on the horse. Nope that's not the right hat! I have to go find another one"

Ezra: I want to pretend there are two sir Kevin of Devins and mom can be the monster.

Enoch: "but you don't have a mace"

Ezra: "no I don't have a mace"

Enoch: but Sir Kevin of Devin ALWAYS has a mace. Ezra you can be a different super hero that helps sir. Kevin of Devin. You can be superman or batman or Robin. What do you want to be?"

Ezra: " I want to be Sir Kevin of Devin"

Enoch: "No you can't. I'm sir Kevin of Devin"

THE LONE RANGER~

Enoch: "Mom when can I watch the movie of 'The Own Ranger'?" (he means "The Lone Ranger". They have listened to some of the old radio shows and looked at pictures on line of the Lone Ranger and his side kick.)

HUNTING AND PRAYER FROM THE BOOK OF MORMON~

The other dayEzra was saying a prayer and he said the cutest thing. Garrett has just been telling them the story about Nephi breaking his bow and them hunting for food. Here was Ezra's prayer the next day.

Ezra:"Heavenly Father please bless that I can kill some food. . .to eat. Help me shoot a bird and a deer like Laman and Lemuel"

CONVERSATION WITH EZRA~

Mom: Ezra don't hit Enoch. When you are frustrated use your words and say you are frustrated.

A few minutes later----Ezra is whacking Enoch with his sword and says: "I'm FRUSTRATED. . . I'm frustrated"

Adult Movie and running Aaron's

Ezra was talking about the picture he drew today. He was telling me what everything in the picture was. He said: "It's a grown-ups movie and its has bad sings in it. It's a grown ups movie that is scary. Its not for little boys. There's a scary knight in it. Its a scary movie with a dangerous bleedy knight and he has a knife and he's bleedy and he tries to shove the bleed back in. I'm going to take my picture so that uncle Aaron can see it." Ezra thinks that when we say we are running errands that we are running Aaron's" He wants to go to uncle Aaron's house. Poor kid he always cries when he finds out that we are only going to Costco, Safeway, or Target.

"Cereal was NOT on the List"

Ezra wouldn't eat his yogurt this morning for breakfast so all morning long he ran around the house saying he wanted food. He kept trying to sneak food. When I finally got to sit down and eat this morning I had a bowl of cereal and Ezra said "Cereal was NOT on the LIST". I asked Garrett about it and he said that he had told them that cereal was not on the menu this morning.

Secrets and today's play

Enoch: "I had the worst Dream Ever! I dreamed that a rhino stuck his horn in me."
Ezra: "That would make you bleed"
Enoch: "That is the scariest dream ever"

Ezra: "I am Batman, I am Batman, I am Batman"
Enoch: "oops, you forgot your hat you'll have to go all the way back to your house. Common let's go to the bat cave"

Today at dinner I told Garrett a secret from the kids and Ezra thought that was great fun. As soon as I got up from the table he looked at Garrett, cupped his hand around his mouth and whispered-"Dad I have a secret". Garrett whispered "what is it" and Ezra proceeded to tell Garrett what I got him for his birthday--OOH I am gonna get that kid!!! We bought it about a month ago so how he even remembered it I don't know.

My Pirates

Enoch and Ezra are some of the most creative and active little boys of 4 and 2 that I know. I have a hard time keeping up with them and try to make the most of birthdays, Christmas and other holidays to pick up toys for them that will facilitate creative play and make my life easier by keeping them busy for hours at a time. Thanks to grandparents who do most of the buying of these great toys I have been able to make this possible. Enoch and Ezra spend hours on end dressing up as pirates, explorers, animals, super-hero's, kings, knights, dragon slayers, etc. . . Those are just the most common I have running around my house. Here are some great pictures of a few of these activities. Thanks Grandparents for all the great creative play toys that make my children happy, smart, active and out from under my feet as I run our household. I will try to get some pictures of Enoch and Ezra the chef's. They LOVE their wooden fruits and vegetables and play "cooking" almost everyday.

Too cute to be bad! The boys love these play silks and pirate swords. The swords are a little harder than I would have liked, but so far no fatalities.

Sad little Pirate--pouty never looked so good.

ARG!!

Author Unknown

Several mornings a week the boys and I sit down for circle time and have school. Part of this "school" consists of memorizing a poem and a scripture each week. The last poem we learned is called "I Saw A Ship-A-Sailing" by Author Unknown. Today we read another poem by an author unknown. Enoch said "Hey our other poem was by Author Unknown too". He was excited to see that the same person had written both poems. I failed to convince him that there isn't really a person named Author Unknown. Ah well, I did the best I could :)
