Day One of Our Trip-Taupo

Here are some pictures from the first day of our trip around the north island of NZ. We left from Wellington around noon (Garrett had worked long long hours this whole week and so needed to sleep in as long as possible) and headed for Taupo. It was a fun drive with beautiful scenery and great company. the drive should have been 6.5 hour roughly but as per usual there were set backs. Ezra threw up all over himself and everywhere around him and we spent some time cleaning it all up. When will we learn that we need to make special preparations for that kid during car trips? He ALWAYS throws up so if we had taken special precautions it wouldn't have had to be such a mess. And we should NEVER feed him on the go-

So beautiful-we just couldn't stop talking about how gorgeous everything was. Camilla said that all of NZ looks like a postcard and it does.

Here is the volcano-so beautiful and cool.

This a picture of clouds here in NZ they are so so amazing. Camilla describes them as 3D looking. It is like there are layers in the sky that you aren't a part of and each set of clouds are on their own layer. So unique!

When we got to Taupo it was late and we ate at Hells pizza and went to our hotel. Great times-

Ethne eating the last of her dinner on the way to the car. She was so slow we gave up on her finishing and let her eat on the go :)

She loves pizza but usually tries to eat it the Grandmommy way-she tries to eat all the toppings off and leave all the crust. She says the word 'pizza' very cute.
