Corte Madera, our 1st taste of Pho, and the Farmers Market

Today was a fun day for us. It started out with Enoch needing to get out a little so he could widen his perspective and say something besides "NO I'm not going to" and "No mom, your wrong".  So I packed up our little group and went to Corte Madera to do a little shopping, and have a little lunch.  I didn't really want to go alone and it worked out that Garrett was able to take off a few hours and come with us. He will make up the time tonight.   I returned a few things at Janie and Jack and met Garrett and the boys in Pottery Barn kids (One of their FAVORITE stores).  By this time it was about lunch time and Ezra was a puddle on the cement. He has this weird habit of transforming i.e. melting at meal time if he goes too long without food. He is happy as can be one minute and non-functional the next.  With Enoch in his fragile state I knew we had to be delicate in picking a restaurant to eat at to avoid more melt downs.  Garrett and I were discussing what was available (in our price range) and sea food came up. Enoch heard the words "sea food" and would hear no more. He LOVES shrimp and even though he has had it at home the last two nights, he had his mind made up. Shrimp it would be.  We didn't want to cause conflict but the sea food was more than we wanted to spend today and we decided to get him shrimp or fish tacos at a cheaper place. The new Vietnamese restaurant was calling to Garrett though, and he wanted to walk over and see what they had on the menu-so of course we all went. It was reasonably priced AND they had plenty of shrimp options to choose from so we decided to try it out. The bonus was: Garrett and I have been wanting to try Pho (pronouncedFu) for a long time, so that we too can be popular at the Fry family get-togethers.  They are known for the best Pho in the area, so it was the perfect time to try.  We ordered the Chicken Rice Noodle Pho, BBQ Pork Fried Rice and Lemon Grass Shrimp.  It was all great but the Phowas WONDERFUL!! We all loved it and Enoch ate and ate it after he finished all the shrimp.  He was sure he wouldn't like it until he tasted the sauce you pour into the soup along with the cilantro, bean sprouts, fresh basil and lime. One drink and he was convinced it was a keeper.  Ezra didn't want to try the soup but he ate his fill on everything else.  When Enoch couldn't eat one more bite he took his spoon and reached it as far towards Ezra as he could and said "Ezra, do you want to taste my last bite of soup? It's [berry] good".  Ezra ate it and liked it but said he was too full to eat anymore.

After a wonderful lunch we took the boys to play in the fountains and graze in the Farmers Market. There were so many BEAUTIFUL looking fruits and vegetables to taste and to buy.  Ezra's heaven was the honey tasting, and when the man offered to put honey on his strawberry Ezra did a little happy dance. He couldn't help himself he was so excited!  He loved Every bite :)  Garrett's heaven was the Irish Soda Bread (we didn't buy) and the Stuffed Indian Flat Bread (we did buy w/ two toppings I might add).  My heaven was the strawberries and the amazing fresh sweet basil (both of which we bought). Ezra's heaven was watching the birds bathing in the fountains. There was a little something for everyone and it turned out to be a fun outing.
